NEWMONT MINING CORPORATION (November 2010 – February 2016)

• Delivered in excess of $400MM in operational cost and productivity improvements by identifying global business opportunities across site functional and support areas. Improvement opportunities focused on key site operational areas, productivity and unit costs that enhanced operational excellence and delivered significantly improved levels of operating cash flow and shareholder value.
• Directed and led a team of operational and functional subject matter experts in the development and implementation of key Global Operation’s Standards – delivering over $11MM in savings as a result of standardized and globally integrated operational business processes (incl. Asset Management, Fluid Management, Infrastructure)
• Led a cross-functional team of site and corporate personnel to successfully implement a $7MM pilot trial of cutting edge driver Fatigue Management technology at Newmont’s Phoenix Operation in northern Nevada. The outcomes of this pilot led to the corporate approval of a further $32MM in funding to deploy this technology globally.

NEWMONT MINING CORPORATION (October 2009 – November 2010)

• Managed and facilitated the global restructure of Newmont’s Information Technology and Supply Chain functions.
• Delivered a 15% improvement in key site operational metrics through the implementation of the Global Operations League Tables - Newmont’s global operations’ KPI program aimed at a consistent and integrated approach at tracking and improving performance across all Newmont operating sites.
• Developed the framework for Newmont’s Annual Incentive and Compensation Program (AICP) which determined the annual bonus pay-out to over 15,000 full time employees globally.
• Delivered a 73% improvement in Serious Injury safety performance over a period of 2 years, resulting from the implementation Newmont’s Safety Taskforce (a cross-functional think-tank of leaders from the entire organization).

• As the Program Management lead, secured AU$5MM of Australian Government funding for the Australian Musculoskeletal Core Competencies Initiate. A nationwide federally funded program aimed at establishing national threshold competency standards for Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Specialty training across all of Australia’s accredited medical schools.
• Working and collaborating with medical specialists, developed, designed and implemented protocols for the mechanical testing of orthopaedic implantable devices, tissues and tissue analogues. Where appropriate advising research and surgical staff on international standards related to such testing.
• Managed the day to day operation of the biomechanical testing facility at the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
• Co-authored a peer-reviewed international paper on the key outcomes stemming from the implementation of Phase 1 of the Core Competencies program.
