-TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: Participated in projects such as:
1) Playground design for a local elementary school: assessed local elementary school’s students’ and faculty’s needs and desires and developed a detailed design based on safety and budget requirements.
2) Orange Juice Processing: researched procedures, designed idealized procedure and equipment based on biological constraints, and calculated design specifications including budgetary information using SuperPro Designer® software.
3) Ethanol Production from Yeast Cultures: completed a group experimental project to optimize ethanol production, tested various yeast cultures under controlled environmental conditions, and experimented in clean lab conditions using proper laboratory techniques.
-KNOWLEDGE OF REGULATIONS: Completed a school course (Safety Engineering): learned safety regulations such as those required by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) as well as others. For playground design project: adhered to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) regulations.
-LEADERSHIP: Worked a total of 5 years in a Shift Manager position outside of school. Required tasks included: managing fellow employees (between 3 and 15 at a time), delegating tasks, motivating employees, addressing customer concerns, and controlling stock inventory.
