Product Test Engineer April 1997 – November 2006
Metaldyne Corporation, Plymouth, Michigan

Metaldyne, formerly Simpson Industries, provided complete engineering services for the design, development, and manufacturing of components and assemblies for:
1. Automotive Suspensions – Steering Knuckles, Control Arms, Ball Joints, Wheel Hubs, etc.
2. Engine NVH – Crankshaft Dampers, Balance Shaft Modules, Lube Pumps, etc.
3. Driveline and Transmission –Clutch Assemblies, Transmission Shafts, Control Modules.
As an integral member of a team-oriented group supporting the Product Development Process, I performed several functions and held many responsibilities:
• Managed and coordinated activities between Product Engineering and Product Testing as part of the prototype development process.
• Provided close interaction with Product Development Engineers and Customers to develop and implement Design Verification Plans (DVP&R) for each prototype component.
o Championed Chassis Group project that focused on improving and streamlining the DVP&R process and how it closed the loop between Product Development, Product Design, Prototype, and Test.
• Supported Quality Manufacturing by participating in APQP processes such as PPAP, DFMEA, SPC, and VA/VE.
• Issued and tracked Laboratory Test Requests in support of R&D, Prototype Design, In-Process Testing, Field Warranty Returns, and Mfg. Plant Quality issues.
• Wrote and reviewed Technical Reports and summarized and presented results to the customer as required for each component or design iteration in DVP&R.
• Managed Calibration and Electronic Equipment Program. Maintain ISO9000/A2LA certifications.
o Performed internal Audits, participated in external audits, and followed-up with Corrective Action Requests, 8d problem solving techniques, and continuous improvement.
