Sr. Manager, Engineering
Managed a staff of 14+ engineers that provided technical knowledge and expertise to support a $2.0 billion biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Areas of focus included upgrade and installation of: process equipment, utilities, facilities, and control systems. Responsible for goal setting, workload management, project management, employee development, managing consultants, and budget management (i.e., Expense: $1- $3 million, Capital: $5- $10 million.)
* Reduced operating costs for the facility by creating and mentoring a project team who installed facilities projects reducing our consumption of energy to meet 2012 corporate goals. Result: Electric savings: $235,000/yr. while reducing CO2 Emissions by 1,010 Metric Tons/yr.
* Spearheaded the turnaround of an $800,000 troubled document management project. Realigned project objectives, mentored project manager, and negotiated with software vendor to be sure project objectives were achieved and on budget. Result: Project was successfully completed after opening up communication between all parties and addressing all roadblocks. System is now standard for division.
* Mentored less experienced engineers in the areas of engineering design, safety, regulatory requirements, and construction management. Result: Projects were implemented in a compliant manner that meets all FDA, EMEA, OSHA, and Building Code requirements.
* Worked proactively with Environmental, Health & Safety to identify non-compliant issues. Result: Corrective actions were implemented that addressed the issues.
* Set multi-year strategic direction during the evaluation and installation of a plant wide Emerson DeltaV batch control system. Project was also an enabler for a critical process expansion. Result: Remicade production increased to meet customer demands.
* Provided cross-functional training opportunities for engineers to allow them to explore new career growth areas. Results: Department became more effective at utilizing a shrinking work force, which in turn increased the number of projects being executed.
* Improved motivation and morale of department during economic downturn by utilizing change management and open communication. Result: Department was able to complete business critical projects on schedule.

Manager / Principal Engineer
Managed the automation & control systems engineering department that provided system design and day-to-day support of the drug and medical device manufacturing facility. Developed capital project teams to implement key business projects identified by the Executive Steering Committee.
