EXPERIENCE
Civil Engineering/Industrial Design/Field Engineering – HBC International (KUCC Contractor), 2005-Present
– Structural Design:
• Steel member selection for large, industrial structures located at Kennecott Utah Copper’s (KUCC) Smelter, Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) Plant, and Copperton Concentrator.
• Steel platform design for large, industrial loading for KUCC’s Smelter and Copperton Concentrator.
• Assisted in the structural support for a large conveyor located at KUCC’s Smelter.
• Designed small, steel structures located at KUCC’s R.O. Plant
• Concrete design for footings, slabs, retaining walls, shear walls, and small buildings; all for industrial applications.
• Created all structural engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

– Quality Control Field Engineering for KUCC’s AGV Replacement Project:
• Provided surveying support in preparation for and during the installation of a new system comprised of fixed position rails, storage racks, and transfer cars that replaced the old Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV) system.
• Provided all Primary Control for construction of the entire project.
• Compliance Checks provided:
 Verified correct location of contractor’s survey lines and points for construction.
 Checked geometry of construction placement prior to pour and drilling.
 Checked elevation of rail plates prior to grouting within 1/16”.
 Checked rail alignment.
 Aligned placements of racks within an elevation tolerance of 1/16”.
 Provided 24 per day (with partner) field engineering coverage during the “shut down”.
 Created a full set of AutoCAD drawings illustrating all rail plates, anchor bolt holes, racks, and positioning for the project.
 Filled out and verbally communicated Field Inspection Reports each shift.
 Worked directly with the KUCC Project Manager.

– Roadway Design:
• Designed 1 mile roadway for access to KUCC’s R.O. Plant from survey layout to final engineering drawings.
• Experience with horizontal and vertical profiles, grading, curvature, surface drainage, and storm water drainage system design.
• Created final roadway drawings using AutoCAD.

– Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering Drawings:
• Updated/Created P & ID drawings for KUCC’s R.O. Plant, Smelter, Power Plant, and pump houses.
• Created various As-Built drawings for piping, structural, mechanical, and many other applications for KUCC.
• Created electrical layout, loop, and schematic drawings for many KUCC applications.
• Created proposal drawings for a new bag house/scrubber design for KUCC’s Smelter.
• Created general arrangement drawings for many KUCC facilities.
• All engineering drawings were formulated using AutoCAD.

– CoreBrace Testing:
• Formulated test proposal for CoreBrace, LLC on the hydraulic ram testing of six buckling-restrained braces used in the construction of IHC Intermountain Medical Center project
