Lafarge North America  East Chicago, IN
IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER 2008-2009

Assumed full responsibility for evaluating unit operations, analyzing root cause failure of all downtime, and designing the expander and granulation process. Acted as the Capital Project Manager for the implementation of all new process improvements and upgrades. Engineered the facility responsible for processing slag from Achelor Mittal#7 Blast Furnace. Held responsible for determining required process improvement and forging capital proposals for funding.

Notable Contributions:
 Spearheaded the development, design, and execution of $6M projects in 12 months as the Capital Project Manager for East Chicago operations, which resulted to a restructured slag granulation facility with the following improvements:
- Constructed a common header water system for granulation (20K gpm quench flow for granulation)
- Revitalized pit walls, explosion proof pulpits for operations, and structural steels
 Served as part of the primary management team responsible for the oversight of all plant areas, including quality, production, maintenance, safety, and environmental concerns

James Hardie Building Products  Fontana, CA
RESEARCH ENGINEER 2005-2008
