Hewlett-Packard, San Diego CA - Media R&D Engineer 2007 – 2010
• Design and test engineer for rigorous inkjet media qualification for 3 new product development programs.
• Cross-functional team lead for new development programs supporting HP strategy and portfolio growth. Helped grow the business by enabling more printer sales with robust media portfolio for customers, maintaining balance of product performance and competitive cost structure.
• Lead and established lab correlations between external suppliers and HP media labs to insure continued long-term confidence in testing capabilities and quality control of manufactured material.
• Effectively collaborated with both international and domestic suppliers and internal partners (ink and printer design teams) to solve issues during product development.

Media Development Engineer 2003 – 2007
• Program Manager and test engineer for six inkjet media product introduction which generated over $12M in revenue annually for the organization.
• Incorporated industry standard test practices and references (e.g. ISO, TAPPI) into more than 60 internal Standard Operating Procedures; lead migration of these documents into a new controlled database enabling easier correlation with partners and suppliers and ISO 9000 compliance.
• Coordinated installation of new test equipment, including industry-leading “Image Permanence Lab” in San Diego saving the organization millions of dollars on outsourcing testing and reducing turnaround time for screening new substrates and chemistries. Procured accelerated light exposure chambers and consulted and assisted in comparable media test lab start-up at Barcelona site.
• Fade Resistance “expert”: facilitated in-house testing and managed third party testing services during product development; data used to differentiate HP products in the market and to equip HP sales team with product solutions and sell-against information for current and new products.
• Contributed and participated in ISO committee task force working to create updated industry standard test procedures for accelerated print-life evaluations.

• Designed and managed a study on light level and environmental conditions in commercial window display environments. Presented recommendation to ISO technical committee designing test methodology for predicting digital print-life (fade) estimates.
