Owner
Created an online business to sell customizable survival packs based off five unique backpacks. Created a legal business entity and established relationships with vendors. Responsible for customer service, order fulfillment, web design and administration, advertising, finances, and legal requirements.
THE HOMESTEAD PROJECT Jul. 2010 – Oct. 2015
Author
Created concept and wrote a full length young adult novel about the discovery of an Earth-like world and the program to train and choose settlers for the mission. Submitted draft for print publication.
ERGONOMIC PHYSICAL THERAPY TOOL Jul. 2014 – Aug. 2014
Inventor
Created a physical therapy tool to prevent repetitive stress injuries in physical therapists’ hands and wrists. Designed and 3D printed functional prototypes for clinical use, and then ran a crowdfunding campaign to mass produce for retail.

Process/Automation Engineer
Process – Responsible for procuring capital biotechnology equipment and repairing or upgrading existing research and manufacturing facilities. Adhered to internal, FDA, and ASME Bioprocessing Equipment standards and worked effectively with managers and end users across multiple departments to meet all operational needs. Led engineering design and project management efforts and saw projects through delivery, including factory and site acceptance testing. Acted as main point of contact for projects and provided regular updates and reports to relevant parties.
- Designed 400L and 500L portable process tanks for research manufacturing facility.
- Analyzed a GMP process and provided tools and supplies for increased efficiency and safety.
- Evaluated and upgraded chromatography suite CIP system to solve recurring residue problem.
- Evaluated large scale SIP system during manufacturing facility investigation.
Automation – Developed and maintained data and DeltaV automation networks for research and manufacturing facilities. Worked with end users to identify and implement automation for increased efficiency and capabilities. Assisted senior engineers with complex projects and investigations, and provided on-call support for researchers.
- Designed logic, IO map, and UI graphics to automate time consuming processes for researchers.
- Added redundant hardware and sensors to safeguard control system for a critical laboratory.
- Evaluated new software and hardware for various department and company initiatives.
Designed custom fixtures for an independent experiment and used the project to introduce 3D printing into engineering department. Member of Genentech CERT team for disaster rescue and management. Volunteered with Genentech mentor program to teach local students.

Manufacturing Engineer
Coordinated the repairs and upgrades of military unmanned aerial vehicles and their control systems, both at a system and component level. Evaluated complex systems and then created work plans, advised technicians, and handled discrepancies to insure that completed repairs or upgrades met all internal and customer requirements. All work completed in an ISO 9001 environment subject to government audits.
