WORK EXPERIENCE
• Sr. System Test Engineer for System Integration & Test Lab, WIMAX (Motorola) Aug 2007
Almost two years experience as a Sr. System Integration and Test Engineer at Motorola working on WiMax Technology, IEEE 802.16e standard. Detailed understanding of WiMax Physical Layer and MAC Layer concepts.
Proficiency with GSM, CDMA, WiMax, LTE wireless technology and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SIP
- The major areas of responsibility include load, stress, performance, and capacity system testing of the WiMAX network. The Load and Stress environment tests real market configurations under loaded testing conditions.
- Working with System Engineering teams in planning test case scenarios for feature, system integration and performance testing and also to perform network debugging when defects are found.
- Configuring WiMax System Elements like EMS, CSN and ASN gateways, AAA server like Bridgewater and Free Radius, WiMax routers, PCMCIA cards, USB dongles and to test Interoperability of the same. Use of Smart bits or equivalent for data generation.
- Testing WiMax features like :
~ VoiP –Configuring WiMax CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment) and also Asterisk server to test VOIP over WiMax. Configuring internal and external ATAs (Analog Telephone
Adapters). As part of VOIP SWAT team, worked extensively with VOIP loaders like
Ameritec and Spirent Abacus to optimize system parameters to improve PESQ and
MOS scores of VOIP calls.
~ Handovers: Intra ASN, Inter ASN, Idle mode mobility
~ Throughput: Throughput analysis under adaptive and fixed modulation schemes and for
various QoS flows. Testing certain WiMax routers for MIMO feature which causes double throughput.
~ QoS: Performance analysis and optimization of various QoS in WiMax like ERTPS, UGS, RTPS, NRTPS with respect to latency, jitter and bandwidth allocation to optimize application layer protocols like RTP
- As part of MOL (Motorola Online) team, providing online support to customers in configuring and debugging field issues by re-creating similar Test Environments
• Technical Tutor, at Illinois Institute of Technology
- Was responsible in tutoring a student, on UNIX, C and JAVA.
- Helped in organizing/ conducting UNIX lab exams.
• Technical Director, at Illinois Institute of Technology
- Was responsible for screening and processing the lectures online.
- Created web pages to provide links to access them.
• Associate Software Engineer, at Infosys Technologies
- Attended the initial training sessions at the campus, before coming to IIT for Masters.
