QC Billing Analyst/Management Off Shore Team(Contractor) – Responsibilities included validation of work orders (aka Requirements) and automation of flagship application (UPN) UtilityPOWERNET. Which is the company's all-in-one, full-integrated Billing, Accounting, Engineering and Operations program consisting of Electric, Gas, Water for rural areas. Responsible for validating work orders from Programmers for flagship program, (UPN) for utilities .NET/Java/COBOL application and Management of Offshore Team.
Validated test accounts created for Electric, Gas and Water customers in the (CA) Consumer Accounting realm.
Validated a total of 9 applications that ran on the client PC: UtilityPOWERnet (UPN), Programs and Reports (P&R), Custom Forms (CF), Client Verification Component (CVC), Meter Data Management (MDM), Remote Payment System (RPS), Work Management (WM) and SEDC Reporting (SR).
Validated the Client's PC contained CMC, .NET for all SEDC applications, Logs for all SEDC applications. UPN server logs were also verified all data was in string format and that it was properly sent to/from a transaction(s). There were then used for any/all troubleshooting and all Software and Logs on the Client;s PC where stored and written to its respective locations for 32-bit and 64-bit machines.
Test validation all Client PC logs were capturing transactions. These included: Deployment Log, PNR, UPN, CMC, and CVC activity logs.
Validated Client PC for Host and Services files. Verified Host files control were properly set to the HP server the User was pointed to and verified all other servers had the # in front of them.
Validated Services file controls were set to the correct listener. ]Test verification when services file was pointed to the wrong listener. False negatives were created and the bath program's performance was affected.
Setup and validated Microsoft IE settings which was crucial to the UPN application working properly. Verified UPN server was added to Trusted Sites, made sure Security Settings for Trusted Sites were set, enabled every option except the Popup-Blocker and the Smart Screen filter, in the Advance tab restored to advanced settings then selected the "Empty Temporary Internet Files" option.
Validated CMC automatically did build/version updated every 4 hours and User's build to force the update check by going to the File-Check option for updated.
Verified when CMC made a call to the UPN server, that a compare was done with the active version on the client PC to the version listed in the UPdateControl.xml for a specific application. When this process did NOT work, I performed this function manually, doing build distribution to those who requested it.
Validated UpdateControl.xml file for current versions and the minimum/maximum version that were required to download.
Verified that User data is stored in the builds and when the UPN application was launched from the despot that User data is moved forward, it purges old builds, based on the config file on the server.
Validated .NET application matched builds' 4 major components (e.g. 1.6.0663.1201). Verified first number, an SEDC indicator, never changed, the second number 6, changed every release when versions were rolled, the third set up numbers, is the build number and that it changes with every build made, the last set of numbers is the version number and is the year and month of the release. Verified when this number series was 9999, that it was a critical build of the last version.
Automated Test Tool: AutomatedQA's Test Complete v8.50 & v8.60. (Enterprise and Standard versions). During this test iteration, tool was used for Functional, Unit, Data-Driven, Manual, Regression, Web/Jax, Java, HTTP Load and .NET testing.
Responsible for scripting flag ship application (UPN) for utilities .NET/Java/Cobol application.
Tasked with research and auditing various open source automation tools that best worked with my client's application(s). Test Complete was chosen. Testing tool did not require programming but some VB scripting was used (when applicable) to connect to the data driven information via Microsoft Excel.
Responsible for communicating issues/questions to AutomatedQA Support Team for resolutions and knowledge. This included updates to both Standard and Enterprise versions.
Liaison between the QA Lead and AutomatedQA regarding the automated testing tool.
Responsible for identifying errors and/or step process issues with the Test Case document. Issues, questions, corrections were reverted back to Document Writer.
Migration validation from Dialogs (Web) to Windows .NET environment.
Validation that scripts worked in XP and Windows 7 environments with the same results.
Validated all automation scripts were properly secured in Source Gear Vault repository.
Validated Mobile application interface with UPN application and Mobile Workforce Management (Service-link) in the form of work orders. This included cell phone and application connections across all required testing platforms. This included Smart Meter Technology validation.
Validated Member Expansion Project - verified existing logic by inserting new logic that would flow into creating XML formats and Help screen content and script's performance on large tables.
Primary Test OS: XP and Web Application Testing . Certified Browser for Customer usage: Microsoft Internet Explorer v7 & v8. Oracle SQL Developer v2.1.1.64/Build Main 64.45 used to access db tables for various test environments. Validated Oracle database tables, service text files and validated that an XML transaction (these were output from COBOL transactions) file was created and displayed in the proper format, containing the correct information. SQL Commands used: to query data files, select statement used to find data, manually changed entries using SQL developer and used update command to revert those changes back to their original state.
