EXPERIENCE:
Process Engineer; Air Liquide MEDAL, Newport, DE (October 2007-present)
• Support a global customer base in the petrochemical and refining industry with such clients as Shell, Petrobras, and ConocoPhillips.
• Design and develop the necessary process requirements for new Hydrogen Recovery Units (HRU) based on customer specifications.
• Use AspenTech HYSYS simulation software to model and predict results for new and existing HRU systems.
• Develop proficiency in understanding of chemical interaction of gas components within given feed streams with the membrane fibers, other possible contaminant gases, and materials of construction.
• Assist in field commissioning of new HRUs and in field replacements of membranes into existing HRUs domestically and internationally.
• Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Logic troubleshooting during commissioning and start up of HRUs.
• Create Process Flow Diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams using AutoCAD.
• Process evaluation and optimization of existing HRUs.
Process Engineer; Armstrong World Industries, Macon, GA (June 2006-September 2007),
• Provided daily line support for both operating lines and assisted in plant safety communication and auditing.
• Lead and supported 5 S and Lean manufacturing events.
• Designed and led projects for new product development, capital cost reduction, unit operation optimization, and product reliability.
• Received and put into practice training in Six Sigma practices utilizing statistical methods to find and solve root causes.
• Developed new unpunched Georgian Minaboard product which brought 200,000 sq ft of new business to the plant initially, with the potential to increase volume to 2 million sq ft in the next four years.
