Conducting hazard identification (HAZID), screening methodologies and Consequence Modelling using a series of process hazard analysis software tool such as PHAST, to prepare Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) report, as part of the compliance with local and company specific mandated regulations in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical sectors.

Delivering technical safety consultancy in the field of Major Hazard Management for Exploration and Production as well as the Refining to the Group Businesses and Strategic Third Party customers; applying Major Hazard software tools in order to provide cost effective solutions for Business problems, and contributing to R&D programs.

Key achievements; Major Hazard Management Consultant
• Advised on the Safety distance for Facility Sitting Programs using Fire, Release, Explosion, Dispersion Hazard consequence modelling (FRED) and Shell’s risk management software tool Shepherd;
Determined the frequency and distribution of explosion overpressure and impulse over a new area of the plant for SASREF Al-Jubail Refinery using Shepherd risk management software tools;
• Developed a generic look up graph of the Lower Flammable Limit distances for typical fluid that may be realised when a level gauge fails;
• Managed an R&D project to establish recommended operating limits for plants producing Sulphur Enhanced Fertilizers, and delivered internal assurances that the addition of elemental sulphur into the process within such operating limits minimizes the risk of dust explosions;
• Supported and Contributed the R&D project involving identification of the major contributors to the explosion hazards in LNG plants;
• Determined the potential fire size from a riser realise to ensure a safe design of an offshore platform.

Primarily accountable for implementing best practice cost and change control policy, processes and procedures on major projects; accurately identifying, controlling and forecasting the cost at completion while developing, incorporating, monitoring and reporting expenditure against that planned and budgeted for.

• Led the identification and processing of project change and variation requests;
• Developed and managed data to capture and identify / verify estimating norms and trends;

• Oversaw the management of estimate reviews and all associated administration;
• Supported the department manager in determining the company’s internal staffing plan;
