Project Experience:

Project: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project
Location: Beaver County, Pennsylvania
Client: Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission
Years: 2012, 2013
Description: This $200 million project includes the replacement of a 1500 foot long bridge structure at mile-marker 13.0 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76). The realignment of the roadway and widening of the existing roadway extends for a total of 2.0 miles.
Responsibilities: Lead Engineer for drainage and stormwater management for the 2.0 mile corridor and four associated ramps. Drainage and stormwater management work included the design of channels and channel liners, drainage area delineation using the rational method and TR-55, inlet spacing calculations, detention basin sizing and riser calculations, pipe sizing and design of piping networks for storm water runoff, and grading of the aforementioned features into the digital terrain model using Inroads. Highway design on this project included producing profiles and cross sections using InRoads, typical sections, site grading using InRoads, preparing plan sets for submission to PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Other responsibilities included design of utility relocations, establishing proposed right-of-way, and construction cost estimation.

Location: Washington County & Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania

Description: This project included three small bridge replacements.

Responsibilities: My responsibilities on this included preparation of typical sections, construction plan sheets, detail sheets, profiles, signing and pavement marking plan, cross sections, existing utility investigation and proposed utility relocations, drainage and storm water management design, and establishing proposed right-of-way and construction easements.
