2001 - PRESENT: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, Construction Management, Capital Engineering, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Metro-North Railroad
• Provide senior level coordination and management for the construction phase of the Capital program as related to –security, power, signal, structural, civil and shop projects.
• Perform Calculations necessary to review and approve submittals for shoring and bracing of excavation for foundations, scaffolding, structural jacking, steel and concrete erection plans, and demolition plans for existing structures
• Design support systems and rehabilitation work for deficient structures and emergency repairs
• Ensure that all appropriate requirements, procedures and regulations of Metro-North Railroad are adhered to during the completion of the construction contracts
• Provide direction and supervision for a staff to manage the construction of Capital Projects involving substations, contact rail catenaries, shops, signals, station facilities, bridges and buildings.
• Provide technical and administrative supervision of consultants on relevant Capital Projects
• Coordinate with Contract Administration to negotiate change orders on construction contracts with Contractors
• Provide technical assistance to Railroad and MTA Executive, Operating, Legal and Controller office and maintain liaison with City, State and Federal agencies.
• Direct the administration controls to assure the completion of projects within time and forecasted budget
• Oversee the supervision of construction operations on Capital Bridge, Station, Tunnel, Shops, and Yards projects
• Prepare budgets, develop staffing schedules, set goals, and perform evaluations for construction management staff
• Review Design Drawings and Specifications for future Capital Engineering projects
2000-2001: SENIOR ENGINEER, Construction Management, Capital Engineering, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Metro-North Railroad
o Project Manager - Responsible for the design of three separate New Haven Line Station Projects and Drainage Improvements on the Hudson and Harlem Lines
o Interacted with Metro-North Operations Departments to ensure the final design met its objectives and coordinate any work by the various user departments necessary for the completion of the construction
o Prepared an acceptable construction staging sequence to provide coordination between the Contractor’s and Operating Departments tasks
o Negotiated Change Orders for design work that became necessary but was not in the initial scope
o Developed written Project Management Plans, Work Scopes, and Design Work Statements necessary for procurement of Consultant Engineers
o Developed and received approval for schedule and budget of the completed design
o Directed administration of projects regarding payment, compliance, and completion.
o Acted as a liaison between the Railroad, State Agencies and local municipalities
1999 – 2000: CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER, Construction Management, Capital Engineering, MTA Metro-North Railroad
o Performed Resident Engineer duties necessary for the completion of Capital Projects at Mt. Vernon East and New Haven Line Stations at Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Harrison, Port Chester, and Pelham
