Research Associate
Assisted, managed and participated in the implementation and execution of qualitative research studies and projects. Conducted research, implemented directed irradiation synthesis, performed literature reviews, wrote grant proposals and disseminated best practices and research findings through various media.
Key Projects and Achievements:
•Biomaterials project geared towards designing an innovative brain aneurysm stent with a focus on irradiation induced nanostructures. Characterized samples both pre- and post-irradiation using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
•Literature reviews of biocompatible materials, techniques (biocompatible, magnetic, thin film) and deposition techniques multilayer technology using ultra-thin films.
•Co-authored “Biocompatibility of Ion-Beam Nano patterned Thin Films,” MRS workshop: Functionalized Nanobiomaterials for Medical Applications; October 4 – 7, 2010, Denver Marriott Tech Center, Denver, Colorado, USA
•Co-authored “Cell Regulation by Ion-Beam Induced Nanostructures,” Society for Biomaterials 2011 Annual Meeting & Exposition; April 13 – 16, 2011, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Orlando, Florida, USA
•Authored grant proposal for biomaterial project resulting in a $1.5 million award from Defense Medical Research and Development Program (DMRDP).
•EUV lithography - Characterized structures formed on Ru, Rh, and Pd samples that underwent thermal and energetic Sn irradiation. Organized results regarding reflectivity loss and surface morphology (Origin, AFM)
•Contributed to a chapter in a EUV lithography related book currently being published
•Co-authored “Particle-induced damage effects on extreme UV (13.5-nm) source collector mirror optics,” Proc. SPIE 8077, 80770I (2011); doi:10.1117/12.888369
