• Project Title: Reconstructing 20th Century Climate Variation from Paleoclimate Proxies to Produce an Independent Record of Global Warming
• Created first independent observational climate variability record spanning from 1880 to present through collection, assemblage, and analysis of time series using corals, ice cores, cave data, and biological indicators.
• Extended data set through 1730 through curiosity and desire to provide additional information for the scientific community.
• Expanded data in NOAA archives.
• Educated the scientific and public communities by helping relay project information via a published article and multiple presentations.
• Established a self-driven solid understanding through supplemental reading and exploratory investigation, allowing for additional data to be incorporated into study.
• Used interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with various scientists outside of NOAA to receive permissions for relevant datasets to be cited and become part of the NOAA archives. Quickly interpreted multiple scientific papers to determine whether the information is relevant, able to be incorporated, and is a good contribution to the integrity of the project.
