Multifaceted Manufacturing Engineering leader with 20+ years of experience driving project and process disciplines that improve quality, first pass yield, and direct costs. A Strategic thinker who effectively integrates engineering and manufacturing with long-term business goals and a visionary professional who utilized leading-edge technological solutions to enhance operational capabilities.
‘What others say …’
‘… managed all manufacturing aspects of several new product introductions, beyond expectations of all executive-level staff. Critical processes, supplier relationships and precise quality check points were implemented on-time and averted any delays in the delivery of quality telecommunication products.’

CAREER TRACK & PERFORMANCE
BINDA ENTERPRISES, INC. Colorado Springs, Colorado
DIRECTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS 2005 – 2011
Provide leadership designing, developing and managing the implementation of company-wide projects and technical support in a custom architectural design and fabrication environment. Key responsibilities include product design, capital equipment justification, team building, materials procurement, manufacturing, quality and daily program management to ensure on-time delivery.
Worked with key players in defining and implementing a sales and marketing strategy to support revenue growth and expand client base from local clients to Fortune 100 developers. Increased revenue by 400% and improved project from $28K to $162K, providing “economy of scale” benefits in production and materials operations.
Researched, engineered, and implemented an Engineering and Manufacturing infrastructure utilizing modern design tools (CAD, 3-D Modeling) and incorporated documented processes that were monitored using SPC techniques. These improvements resulting in reducing product development time by 65% (from 12 weeks to 4 weeks), slashed the number of design defects introduced into the manufacturing environment by 95.8%.
Developed and integrated new automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment and process controls that reduced fabrication and assembly of product by 67% (on average - from 2.74 MH /unit to .904 MH / unit). Increased product yield from 84.2% to >98.36% and reduced cycle times, product costs, and rework.
Investigated and selected computerized estimation tool with "must have" requirements including ease of use, ability to write custom reports, program stability, accuracy, and factory support. Implementation of the tools resulted in a reduction of estimating time from 14 hours ($100K in project value) to 6.24 hours, a 55.4% improvement. Improved the consistency between bids and the accuracy between estimators to a ± .06% deviation.
MCAFEE/NETWORK GENERAL. Santa Clara, California
DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL OPERATIONS 2003 – 2005
Played an integral role in identifying, developing and managing the integration of critical system wide tools and services to support the manufacturing of Enterprise-level packet analysis hardware and software. Critical responsibilities included Product Reliability, Mechanical Design, Agency Compliance, Test Development and Document Control Services.
Utilizing vital team players, I successfully transferred all hardware technology and documentation supporting McAfee Packet Analysis Division in the formation of Network General without any business interruption. The precise execution mitigated potentially disastrous loss of revenue and drop in customer confidence.
Re-defined the test development process resulting in reducing test development cycle time by 38% through utilization of modular test routines being migrated into current and emerging product releases. This provided an accelerated time to market and a reduction in technical training.
Led a team in specifying and implementing the Agile PLM system for company-wide management of product documentation, firmware, publications, procedures, specifications, and change control. The system permitted centralized paperless controls, reduced errors, improved change analysis / implementation of changes and reducing operational costs. Cycle time was reduced 47% and accuracy improved from 91% to 98.2%.
Implemented a group and processes to validate...
