WORK EXPERIENCE

Nokia Siemens Networks (formerly known as Motorola) August 2006 – Present

System Engineer for System Integration and System Test Lab of WiMAX and LTE

Roles and Responsibilities

• Implemented various LANs to accommodate multiple research and product development requirements. Many of the LANs contain complex, proprietary network elements (or hosts) with individual requirements that surpass the standard PC or UNIX host network needs. These include hosts that use RIP or OSPF for redundancy and failover, hosts with multiple interfaces, hosts in dual-node redundant configurations, etc
• Involved with the daily maintenance and troubleshooting of the Network Elements such as Routers, Switches and proprietary Motorola products. Perform expert system-level end-to-end troubleshooting as needed. Check system logs everyday to see if there are any failovers or problems which could be dealt before it could cause a system wide outage
• Configuring WiMAX Network Elements like EMS, CSN gateways, ASN gateways, AAA server like NetOp, Bridgewater and Free Radius, CPEs like WiMAX routers, PCMCIA cards and USB dongles, and also testing Interoperability of the same
Testing WiMAX features like:
Handovers: Intra ASN, Inter ASN, Idle mode mobility
Throughput: Throughput analysis under adaptive and fixed modulation schemes and for
various QoS flows
QoS: Configured Test bed for Performance analysis and optimization of various QoS flows in WiMAX like ERTPS, UGS, RTPS, NRTPS with respect to latency, jitter and bandwidth allocation to optimize application layer protocols like HTTP, FTP, SIP, RTP etc
VoIP: Configuring WiMAX CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment) and also Asterisk server to
test VoIP over WiMAX. Configuring internal and external ATAs (Analog Telephone
Adapters). As part of VoIP SWAT team, worked extensively with VoIP loaders like
Ameritec and Spirent Abacus to optimize system parameters to improve PESQ and
MOS scores of VoIP calls
• As part of MOL team, providing online support to customers in configuring and debugging field issues by re-creating similar Test Environments
• Training contractors in the team on using all the tools and running tests
