CAREER OVERVIEW
May 2009 – present Proprietor Marina Cantina, San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico Marina Cantina is a restaurant bar located on the waterfront in San Carlos. Marina Cantina has gross sales in excess of $500,000.00 USD annually and directly employs 12 nationals.
Oct 2007 – Nov 2008 - Mfg Manager Minco Mfg Colorado Springs, CO - Creation of Minco’s operations in Mexico. Led manufacturing, this included: MRO purchasing, inventory management, and shipped product quality. Minco Manufacturing is an OEM supplier to the imaging industry. http://mincomfg.com/
• Established new manufacturing facility in Mexico. This includes but is not limited to: operational and environmental permitting, installation of equipment and infrastructure, facility maintenance, hiring and development of indirect staff, training production operators, and materials/purchasing.
• Upon completion of construction and installation phase, I led all aspects of manufacturing. This includes but was not limited to: new manufacturing and test of pressure rollers, refurbishing of copier development units, purchasing of production supplies from local sources, inventory management, and shipped product quality.
2001 - 2009 Manufacturing Quality Engineer, SpectraLink Corp Boulder, CO - Led manufacturing support operations for new manufacturing and field return repair center ensuring repair and daily turnaround of returned products as well as 99%+ test yields for new production products. This included: supervision of quality inspectors, repair parts inventory management, technicians’ performance, and all shipped product quality. • Led the move of high volume manufacturing processes and service repair operations to México on time and under budget. Recognized by VP of Manufacturing on performance evaluation “He has been ahead of the curve every step of the way during the move”.
• Managed the operational and environmental permitting, installation of equipment and infrastructure, development of local staff, training production operators, and MRO purchasing.
• Developed and implemented the Mexico facility quality system, and Spectralink’s México facility was the first SpectraLink department certified to the ISO9001-2000 standard.
• Implemented the tools, systems and processes required to ensure the ongoing manufacturing of products within their requirements and compliance specifications.
• Improved battery manufacturing yields from 87% to 99% reducing scrap $25,000/yr.
• Reduced customer complaints for intermittent power by 80%.
• Zero non-conformities reported during ISO 9000:2001 quality system audits by BSI from 2004 - 2007
March 1998 to October 2001: Repair Center Leader, SpectraLink Corp – Led repair center support operations ensuring repair and daily turnaround of returned products. This included: planning, repair parts inventory management, technicians’ performance, and repaired product quality. During this time, the repair center grew from a 3 person operation to 30 people.
