Engineering Intern for technical services in NewPage’s Luke mill which specializes in high quality coated paper. This department is responsible for testing pulp, paper, and coating samples as well as environmental effects. This mill produces paper in a continuous manufacturing process.
•Responsible for testing pulp and paper samples to ensure process consistency
•Conducted product improvement projects which lead to a more controlled coating tolerances
•Ran a project to reduce the acidity of the water returned to a nearby river
•Assisted in a safety audit in which many safety issues were discovered and resolved

Alliant Techsystems Inc.(ATK) is one of the largest defense companies in the United States.
Product Engineering Intern for M1002 & M865 120mm tank training rounds. Both programs share one support team. This plant utilizes a batch manufacturing process for part production.
