Project Engineer / Superintendent June 2010 – Present
ODOT Project 095-11 - $5M project to demolish and fully replace a gunite-encased steel girder bridge with a steel beam bridge over two active traditional railroad tracks and two active passenger train rails with high voltage overhead catenaries, as well as underground and roadway improvements.
• Communicated with multiple railroads, eight utility owners, various property owners, and owner’s representative to secure permits for demolition approval and work implementation in the project start-up process.
• Submitted RFIs in the planning stage, and proposed an alternate material to the owner to use in place of design material based on extensive independent research that resulted in over $30k of direct project savings.
• Generated over 70 purchase orders, designed and implemented SWPPP, reviewed shop drawings, created two demolition procedures and schedule.
• Coordinated labor, equipment, material and scheduling in order to deliver the project on time and under budget.
Mahoningside Power Plant Remediation - Demolition of existing structures, removal of ~1000 cy of contaminated soil, dewatering and sealing of historic power plant foundations, and haul road installation.
• Solely accountable for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of the $1.2M project.
• Coordinated labor crews, material delivery, equipment, and subcontractors in addition to facilitating daily communication with the owner’s representative for collaboration on project execution.
• Created and submitted detailed work plans to the owner, tracked $75,000 of Force Account work, and evaluated crew effectiveness and labor cost reports to ensure profitability and successful delivery of the project.
ODOT Project 598-08 - Completed the separation of grades with two steel girder bridges over railroad tracks, in addition to one concrete box beam bridge over an access road, and over 60,000 square feet of mechanically stabilized earth wall with a final project price of over $19M.
• Created of daily construction reports, coordinated material deliveries including over 1,200 MSE wall panels and managed of over 100 separate Extra Works items.
• Communicated daily with the superintendent, foreman and ODOT for overall project execution while directly responsible for the completion of the project closeout process including final punch-list and quantities.
• Comprehensive project support made possible the safe, timely and profitable development of new structures, roadway and underground improvements.
