PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Senior System Engineer- L3 SDS (2006 -2011)
• Lead system engineer for L3-SDS/Perkin-Elmer/Vivid Technologies on their detection system units.
• Product line systems included Automated Systems, Checkpoint Systems and Cargo systems.
• Lead system engineer for the cargo gantry system developed for and installed in Vietnam (2010). Responsibilities included
development of site control drawings and coordinating design efforts with third party developer – Received bonus for effort.
• System engineer in the updating of CX-450P-DV Pallet systems which were eventually installed in Australia. Responsibilities included
design updates, and testing/verification at third party development site located in U.K. (2010) – Received bonus for effort.
• System Engineer assistance in the development of Next Gen Automated system. Transferred to Cargo development group
when development stalled waiting for parts (2009). Responsibilities included system schematics, system test and integration. – Received bonus for efforts
• System Engineer on government CAARS gantry project. (2008-2009). Deities included creating and maintaining system
requirements and traceability of requirements to government requirements.
• Lead system engineer on the initial development of L3’s 6.4 MVACX checkpoint system (2007-2008). Responsibilities included
creating and maintaining system requirements, traceability of requirements to TSA requirements, system design, system
integration, system test and verification. – Received bonus for efforts
• System Engineer coordinating effort to bring a Chinese company checkpoint product line as a low cost L3 option.
Responsibilities included qualification of systems, obtaining engineering documentation, and training of Chinese personnel to assure design quality and regulatory compliance. During this time frame re-wrote design specifications for x-ray tube/power supply. (2006-2007)


Cargo Test & Integration Manager- L3 SDS (2003-2006)
• Managed a technical group responsible for the development, integration, test, installation and maintenance of various
inspection cargo equipment. – Received a special bonus for efforts during this period.
• Lead system engineer on the development of L3’s gantry system CX3800G (2004-2006). Responsibilities included
coordinating of all system engineering documentation (beam geometry, control drawings, schematics, functional
specifications, part fabrications, etc.), coordinating design with third party developers, test, integration, verification and
installation. During this time period traveled to Thailand to assist in the installation and customer acceptance of two units.
• Lead system engineer in the development of the cargo CX-450P-DV pallet system (2004-2005). Responsibilities included system
interface control document, coordinating of all system engineering documentation (beam geometry, control drawings,
schematics, functional specifications, part fabrications, etc.), coordinating design with third party developers, test,
integration and verification.
• Test and integration manager coordinating the transfer of the CX-Mobile Cargo product line into Perkin Elmer-L3 company
Requirements (2003-2006). Deities included creating and maintaining review and updating all design documents, test and integration.

System Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer- Vivid Technologies/Perkin-Elmer (1996-2003)
• Started career at Vivid technologies as a senior manufacturing engineer but quickly advanced to system engineer.
• Lead system engineer on the Argus Automated project which was initially funded by the FAA but was continued under TSA.
• As lead system engineer on the Argus project Responsibilities included defining specifications, CONOPS, coordinating and designing
with third party developer Ana logic, documenting the design, and participating in and supporting certification at the government’s facility in Atlantic City. (2001-2003).
• Lead system engineer on the automated systems VIS 108, VDS 108 and MVT. (1999-2003)
• As lead system engineer on the automated systems included all system engineering responsibilities plus all regulatory and manufacturing engineering functions.
• Manufacturing engineering responsibilities during the years 1996- 2003 included (but not limited to) typical functions plus all reliability and regulatory testing and file submittal.



Managed Technical Operations Department consisting of 18 staff members: Xerox Imaging System
• Coordinated all manufacturing and product engineering functions which included electronic package design, test diagnostics, product reliability testing, system analysis, production flow definition, part design verification, and pilot run management.
• Managed and defined all hardware and software production requirements. Performed pareto/histogram SPC methods to insure corporate quality standards were achieved.
• Personally interfaced with regulatory agencies (UL, CSA, VDE, & FCC) to insure products and procedures conformed to their requirements.
• Managed service (European & Domestic) and production test department. Interfaced with ATE and other vendors.
• Managed quality assurance personnel to insure shipment of quality products. Revised an existing database to allow the tracking of production repairs. This database was used to perform SPC analysis to correct quality issues.
