PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
UNITED SOLAR OVONIC, Auburn Hills, Michigan 2001 – 2012
Corporate Supplier Quality Engineer (November 2010 – May 2012)
• Key cross-functional team member in new product (United Solar new solar module design – ePVL) and new raw material/supplier launch.
o Created DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans and test plans (including product testing and validation, and design verification runs) in collaboration with various departments within the organization to ensure a safe launch.
o Completed supplier product validation preparation including APQP development (supplier PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams). I performed a supplier quality audit, review, and approved supplier PPAP submissions.
o Trained the manufacturing plant quality teams on inspection procedures.
o Provided onsite support for “Restricted Production Runs” including deviation requests, kick-off meetings, receiving materials, organizing production run builds, and also assisted in providing final build reports.
• Organized Quality Systems Basics (QSB) workshop at the supplier site to facilitate supplier development/improvement programs.
• Support operations located in Michigan, Mexico, China and Italy. Perform line calls, and serve as liaison between operation teams and suppliers. Led containment efforts, and work closely with supplier in identifying root cause, and determining interim and permanent corrective actions
• Member of the United Solar internal audit team that conducted an internal audit at the United Solar Tijuana, Mexico manufacturing facility. The audit was completed for three different standards: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
Module Manufacturing Engineering Manager (February 2008 – October 2010)
Lead Auburn Hills (AH1 and AH2) plant engineering team for Module Manufacturing
• Led an engineering team consisting of manufacturing engineers and engineering technicians
• Responsible for improving equipment performance by focusing on the following aspects: safety, quality and throughput
• Responsible for maintaining equipment uptime by, including but not limited to, providing 24/7 technical support to operations team, reviewing and performing equipment PM’s, defining spare part listing, and equipment failure root cause analysis
• Defined and managed engineering team annual budget of up to $4 million
• Ensured the sharing of best practices with Module Manufacturing Engineering team in Mexico facility
• Worked closely with the Product Development and Division QA departments to further improve product quality and integrity
• Led Team Synergy (Lean Associate Training System) project for Module Manufacturing operations team
• Ensured OSHA requirements for equipment and processes are met by working closely with plant and Division level safety department
• Created and Managed Bill of Material (BOM) and Standard Work Procedures (SOP)

Module Manufacturing Operations Manager (April 2006 - February 2008)
Led Auburn Hills (AH1 and AH2) Module Manufacturing Operations
• Managed two Module Manufacturing facilities (AH1 and AH2)
• Led operations teams which consist of eight shift supervisors, two facilitators and up to 280 production associates in 24/7 operations
• Led AH2 Module Manufacturing plant start up in September 2006. This included hiring and training of shift supervisors, facilitators and production associates
• Ensured finished goods of high quality are produced per customer shipping requirements
• Drove quality and throughput improvement through effective documented training system, communications to increase awareness and process improvements
• Responsible for ensuring smooth implementation of Lean
