Attendance Monitoring Using Fingerprint Recognition (BE Project) in Java
- Used biometric algorithms to implement finger print recognition
- The finger prints were stored in a database.
- Information points known as minutae were extracted and were used to match fingerprints.
- Finger print matching was performed using image processing algorithms.
Command Interpreter in Java
- Platform independent command prompt.
- Supports Unix/Linux commands.
- Various basic commands such as cat, ls, mv, mkdir, cd were implemented.
- Non-trivial commands like gzip, gunzip, and grep were implemented too.
- Pipelining instructions was the major focus of this project.
Song Search Engine Web Application (Flex, PHP, MySQL)
- An application for storing and searching song information.
- Created a MySQL database to store about 30 characteristics of a song.
- The front end was designed in flash using Adobe Flex Builder
- The data was retrieved in XML format.
- The XPath API was used to query the XML documents
VoiceXML weather application.
- Created an IVR application that would ask the user for the name of a city and read out its weather forecast.
- The voice browser was created in PHP, while VoiceXML was used to fetch data.
- The city name mentioned by the user is sent in the form of text to the application program.
- The speech to text transformation is done using information stored in a grammar file (.gsl).
- The application would then fetch the weather forecast from www.weatherchannel.com.
