RELATED COURSEWORK AND PROJECTS
Computer Design and Advanced Digital Logic Design Fall 2011 and Spring 2012
• Learned about various kinds of processor architectures, and developed a pipe-lined and a single cycle processor in VHDL. The single cycle was part of an embedded system, which was loaded on a programmable FPGA board.

Advanced Software Development Methods Spring 2012
• Learned about project management, scheduling, and planning; requirements capture and analysis semi-formal specification, OOP design, programming practices, software reuse (application generators and component-based), inspections, and formal specifications.
• Worked through the entire software development life cycle, in collaboration with my team and in communication with a sister team, developing robot control software in Java.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Spring 2011
• Learned about neural networks, genetic algorithms, constraint satisfaction problems, search algorithms, and much more. Although this was mostly a theory class, I also wrote a program in Java intended to find the shortest path point to point in a world populated by polygon obstacles.

Two semesters of independent study (Math 4993) with Professor Zoran Grujic Spring 2011 and 2012
• Culminated with a programming project in Matlab that used a difference equation method to solve Poisson’s equation (descriptive of steady-state heat distribution, etc.) for a polygonal region.
Introduction to Computer Graphics Fall 2011
• Wrote a library of image processing functions, a ray tracer, and a 3-D walkthrough using OpenGL, in Visual C++.
Computer Networks Spring 2011
• Developed applications in Java and C that dealt with the various networking layers, (e.g. Wrote GBN protocol for a simulated network environment.)
