CURRENT AND PAST POWER GENERATION/SUBSTATION PROJECTS AS LEAD ENGINEER
•Led a total of 16 projects through design, manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning stages
located within the U.S. and Canada
•Developed GIL (Gas Insulated Line) power transmission solutions for a range of generation technologies
including Nuclear Power Generation, Hydro-Electric Power Generation and Electrical Substations
•Configured various designs for project specifications with high voltage ratings from 115kV-1200kV and
continuous current ratings from 1000-6000 amps
•Created inventive GIL power transmission solutions for a range of environments including above ground,
trench, tunnel and vertical and inclined shaft installations
PROJECT ENGINEER TEAM LEADER RESPONSIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS
•Directed a team of engineers and drafters on an average of 6 concurrent projects in a range of active
stages
•Developed product cost models, layouts and design concepts for associated marketing bid
proposals on prospective projects which have resulted in 16 contract awards ranging from $1 to $20
Million both foreign and domestic
•Reviewed product design for compliance with engineering principles, customer contract requirements
and related specifications to maintain company and industry standards as well as customer satisfaction
•Designed bus routing layouts and performed piping analysis to optimize support configuration to
minimize both pipe stress and support reactions, insuring safe functionality of our equipment and the
equipment we interface with
•Resolved Quality Assurance and manufacturing problems associated with fabrication and assembly
processes
•Maintained project schedules by delegating tasks and providing guidance to a team of drafters and
engineers for project development while controlling expenditures within limitations of the project
budget
•Provided both off and on-site guidance to associates working in the field during installation and
commissioning project stages
•Developed company standards and procedures including the development and specification of an
aluminum enclosure coating system to allow the use of lower kV class equipment at higher amperage
levels to save on both material and labor costs
•Applied new technologies to old industry standards including the development of a temperature
distribution system providing real time monitoring for Gas Insulated Line fault detection as well as the
ability to push amperage output beyond specification levels in times of emergency.
