• Designed and conducted experiments to analyze the feasibility of a muscle-powered electrical generator for the charging of batteries used to run medical implants, such as pacemakers and neurostimulators.
• Constructed a testing rig capable of running all day long for several weeks, used to strike a piezoelectric stack, simulating forces typically generated by human skeletal muscle.
• Confirmed the feasibility of the concept by successfully charged a battery within the constraints of the project.
