Senior Design Project – “The Extender”
The main objective of the senior design project was to design and build a manufactured component to be submitted into a nationally recognized competition, AeroDef 2011. The key criterion for AeroDef was to design and develop a product that would be competitively marketable, manufacturable and reliable.
Managed the development lifecycle from inception to completion: Design, Prototype, Test and Manufacture
Managed four resources by allocating responsibilities, obtained and consolidated project status and acted as key liaison between project stakeholder and project team
Managed the development and maintenance of key project deliverables including: Bill of Materials (BOM), Project Schedule, and Status Reports
Conducted weekly internal status meetings which included the facilitation and scheduling of meetings, preparing meeting agendas and managing issues/risks and key action items
Conducted design analysis, weight analysis, material analysis, and stress analysis utilizing AutoCAD, CATIA and classical engineering principles
Presented final product demonstration at AeroDef 2011 which placed 2nd overall amongst all other submitted projects
Presented final product to CSUN faculty which placed 3rd overall amongst all other engineering departments
