Product-line redesign and cost reduction. Designed a line of mixed-signal, low-power,
intelligent, programmable automotive instruments that replaced a random variety of older,
hard-to-build instruments. This significantly reduced production costs, flow and sub-assembly
inventory; ultimately resulting in improved features, increased sales & greater profit margins.
Contributions were the electronics design, “C” code authoring, PCB Design & test fixture designs.
Designed, prototyped and licensed a unique electronic educational quiz game
Sales volumes have averaged about 10,000 units per year and are still selling.
Performed the electronic, PCB, firmware, enclosure and documentation design.
Designed unique low-cost, high-performance automotive tach / speedometer combo
Implemented new technologies and components, resulting in a final product which beat-out the
foreign competition and was a company best-seller for a few years. The team accomplished this
fast-paced revolutionary design project, from concept to production, in less than 90 days.
Executed the electronic design, PCB Design and “C” code firmware.
Designed large “moving target” motor / control system for military training applications
Included printed circuit control board for motor driving, switching and sensing of a golf-cart sized
remote controllable target. Also included lighting system design, audio amplification, loud-speaker
integration, large battery charging circuit design, all PC board layouts and prototype construction.
