HVL Drivers and Load Switch Product Engineer / Project Manager 2009-2012

• Work closely with the customer to understand product requirements and lead cross-functional teams, such as marketing, design, product engineering, characterization engineering, test engineering, and planning, on new product development projects for DLS product line. Responsible for project management duties to ensure project achieved schedule and product performance goals. Acted as central point of contact for product while in development and made manufacturing performance decisions to support product for minimum return on investment (ROI) of $2,000,000 per project.
• Utilize skills and experience to ensure cost effective and high quality solutions saving up to $200,000 on individual projects. Serve as equipment and supplies procurement engineer (purchasing). Completed development and product release of 11 new core analog devices, five design spins (metal mask options), and 11 package spins. Worked closely with packaging team to develop three new package types from February 2009 to November 2011. Delivered large-volume purchases from major customers, achieving net revenue of up to $50,000,000.
• Collaborate closely with management and product engineers to establish new product development specifications. Provide group and one-on-one training sessions with cross-functional members to enable better understanding of roles in implementing new specs, resulting in standardization and improved group efficiency.

• Lead weekly core team meetings for each project to review progress toward established goals. Discuss reviews needed to satisfy new product development spec to ensure systematic completion of product parameter specification, design requirements, ESD requirements, PG goals, lot starts in wafer Fabs, assembly requirements, testing requirements, sample development, fist silicon analysis, characterization, device/process/package qualifications, test qualifications, creation of first production material, and establishment of inventory in Distribution Center so orders from customer could be processed immediately after release to market.

• Complete setups on material master request system (MMRS) to support production. Establish standardized product naming convention, orderable device names, fab technology flow, die size, wafer size, and parameters for planning team to set up new device flows in wafer Fabs and assembly and test sites so new product material can be processed and moved from one operation to next efficiently.

• Establish requirements for needed BOM to provide proper assembly and test of new products. Deliver required documents for AT sites to use as traveler to ensure proper processing and testing of devices.

• Establish qualification plans for each new product, including establishment of biasing conditions needed for tests. Utilized SS Life Test, HAST, Autoclave, and Temp cycle/bake testing.

• Establish and standardize submission methods to enable organization to effectively obtain ESD and latch-up results in a timely manner and train product engineers to effectively use new system.

• Perform statistical data analysis to verify product meets customer requirements and establish detailed product specification for publishing product datasheet after collection of lab and automated test data.

• Create release documents and route for official signoff to document and complete official product release necessary to allow customers to enter orders.


SLL Lab Development / Support / Characterization Team Manager 2001-2009
• Manage and supervise two engineering lab development/lab test engineers and 12 engineering technicians, which consisted of characterization data team technicians, engineering equipment technicians, software development technicians/engineers, and engineering test board/hardware development technicians. Oversee procurement, lab hardware and equipment development, maintenance, repair, calibration, organization, ESD controls, and placement of capital assets for the SLL engineering lab, design lab, and engineering support rooms. Direct software development activities for the lab hardware/equipment and for post-processing of lab data. Manage Team to use the equipment and software to collect lab characterization data necessary to ensure devices meet product specifications on all new SLL products, which consisted of more than 300 projects (device releases).
• Collaborate with Product engineers to understand projects submitted to team several months in advance, ensuring software applications and lab station readiness. Develop new test methods and equipment acquisitions. Implement strategies to significantly reduce lab characterization cycle time.
• Lead test floors, engineering labs, and machine shop relocation team to ensure efficient move of lab and test floor in order to reduce down time.
• Maintain tracking/recall system to ensure completion of calibration events and records for SLL engineering, failure analysis, reliability, bond, marketing applications, and military products labs on schedule with minimal downtime. Ensure timely implementation of Agilent and Tektronix calibration and service contracts that were kept up-to-date and renewed on annual basis.
• Coordinate efforts with lab development engineers and technicians to ensure timely completion of 24-hour lab project’s key elements, including capability to collect characterization lab data across full temperature range around the clock (unmanned on two shifts) while maintaining safe work environment. Developed methods to monitor and perform automated emergency shutdown in case of high-temp runaways.
