PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
National Technologies Associates, Inc. (Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio) 2013 - present
Senior Systems Engineer
Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) contractor for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Agile Combat Support Directorate, Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS)
• Authored the Systems Engineering Plan and updated the Requirements Management Plan for the KC-46 Aircrew Training System program office.
Science Applications International Corporation (Beavercreek Ohio) 2011 – 2012
Senior Systems Engineer
Developed and updated architecture documentation for Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) project. Implemented requirements capture, analysis and management processes.
• Performed trade-study to select Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) modeling tool for development of integrated enterprise architecture products. Convinced management to purchase tool of choice, based on performance. Realized cost savings of $3,630 per license for stand-alone copies of tool needed in secure processing environments, as compared to cost of incumbent software tool.
• Developed architecture models for a multi-intelligence collection platform, coupled with an integrated processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) capability under the Blue Devil program within the selected integrated DoDAF tool, using systems modeling language (SysML).
• Derived system performance requirements from operational need statements using SMART guidelines (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound).
• Authored the interface control document (ICD) for the Blue Devil multi-intelligence collection capability, airborne segment. This document outlines all electrical and software interfaces between the airborne collection platform subsystems and between the air segment and ground segment.
DRS Defense Solutions (Beavercreek, Ohio) 2010 – 2011
Principal Systems Engineer
Documented development efforts for Integrated Broadcast Service Joint Tactical Terminal Receive Cryptographic Module (RCM) and Transmit Cryptographic Module (TCM). Developed performance and component requirements for Air Force Tactical Receive System – Ruggedized (Miniature) (AFTRS-R(M)).
• Wrote Interface Control Documents and Interface Design Descriptions for RCM and TCM; in the process of which, discovered and corrected missing and\or incorrect requirements and verification plans.
• Created AFTRS-R(M) Performance Specification and Component Specifications for AFTRS-R(M) Primary Processor, Carrier Interface Module, and Power Supply, all within three weeks, enabling the program to resume the required schedule.
Boeing International Defense Systems/Logistics Support Systems (Wichita, Kansas) 2003 – 2010

• Performed operational requirements analysis and functional analysis for B-52 Strategic Radar replacement, documented with DoDAF Operational and System Views using Telelogic Rhapsody.
• Wrote Operational Concept Description for B-52H in a Network Centric Environment. Presented scenario simulation to Air Force customer and received standing ovation.
• Co-authored B-52 for Network-Centric Operation (NCO) Roadmap. Customer preferred this document over their current vendor’s results.
• Performed functional analysis for B-52H data link communications upgrade, documented in DoDAF System Views using Telelogic System Architect.
Boeing Satellite Development Center (El Segundo, California) 2000 – 2003
Sr. Spacecraft Payload Subsystems Engineer
Specification development and verification planning for communications satellite payload subsystems.
• Managed hardware requirements specifications for electronic modules in the downlink active phased array antenna subsystems for Hughes SPACEWAY and USAF Wideband Global Satellite systems. Developed plan to correct requirements deficiency after start of production resulting in no schedule delay. Received monetary award.
• Wrote verification plans for the beam driver amplifier (BDA) and automatic gain control (AGC) modules and the Downlink Array control panel subassembly for the SPACEWAY satellite.
• Modeled power budget allocation across redundancy path switching network in the SPACEWAY BDA panel assembly.
