Hazardous Waste
PSC May ’12-Present Environmental Specialist. Driver for Household Hazardous Waste program; focused on working safe and filling out all paperwork associated with collection and transportation of hazardous material. This position requires CDL and HAZWOPER endorsements. Esssential to this position was also maintenance and efficient operation of Tractor-Trailers, Forklifts, Skid-Steers.
Hydrology
Brown and Caldwell December ’10-November’11 Field Sampling Team Leader. Team Leader of 4, conducting surface and ground water sampling. This work was conducted at remote locations, on mine sites, and in difficult weather conditions. A Marsh-McBirney, flume, or volumetric measurement was used on the surface water. Grundfos, peristaltic, or submersible pumps were used for the ground water. Also conducted water and soil vapor sampling at contaminated gas stations.
Bureau of Land Management July ‘10- Dec’10
Hydrologic Technician. Completed a spring inventory for 230,000 acres on public land. This was facilitated through the use of GPS, ArcGIS, and topographic maps. Water quality was tested on site and assessment was made of the site. Also, conducted stream gauging using Marsh-McBirney equipment and stream cross-sections taken using survey equipment. I also conducted monthly and seasonal maintenance on stream gauging sites and on precipitation gauges.
Idaho Department of Water Resources July ‘09- Oct ’09
Hydrologic Technician. Collected and prepared water samples in urban and remote locations for sensitive testing parameters. My duties included in-situ testing of water quality parameters, completion of chain-of-custody forms, introductory analysis, and use of ArcGIS to evaluate sites.
Idaho Department of Water Resources July ‘08- June ’09
Water Right Reviewer. Reviewed commercial and residential water rights and performed ownership changes, splitting of water rights, and assignment of security interests. Organized and inventoried archival records, water records. Also created documentation for Snake River Basin Adjudication.
Mining
Kiewit: Black Butte/Omaha Summer ’05 & Summer ’06
Corporate Intern. Corporate intern for two summers at Kiewit. My first summer, surveyed using a Trimble RTK unit in order to stake-out cut/fill for ramps, put in drill grid stakes, and checked reclamation depths. Also completed a mine site-wide pond survey on over 100 ponds where volumes were checked against specifications. When necessary, assisted dozer operator in cleaning out ponds to acceptable levels. For second summer as a corporate intern, used a AutoCad program, Minescape, to create a 3-D model of subsurface composition using data from drill hole cores. Created mine plans for a boxcut of a new pit and carried out a feasibility study on placement of a rail line. Supervised two different drilling programs where exploration and water wells were drilled.
