Systems Engineering Manager
* Initially hired as an Electrical Engineer. Performed cable, circuit card, FPGA/CPLD firmware and microcontroller software design for military ground and air vehicles.
* Promoted to Project Engineer and managed overall system design and development to include proposal generation. Performed the overall development of the Fighter Aircraft C2 Enhancement program, a turnkey communications device in the form factor of an AIM-9 missile that provided strap-on stopgap beyond line of sight communications for fighter aircraft utilizing the Iridium satellite constellation operating in Afghanistan.
* Served on the Security IPT for the new development of the next generation multi-service air combat test and training system. Worked with the customer, government and NSA for security architecture design and requirements development for an embedded encryption unit.
* Performed the requirements development, technical execution and subcontract management for the KOV-34 encryption unit for the new P5 combat training system for the JSF F-35 aircraft in accordance with customer requirements and in coordination with NSA.
* Promoted to Systems Engineering Manager. Performed management duties for a group of systems and project engineers for the test and training Range Systems line of business. Includes ensuring compliance to CMM Level 3 engineering practices and performing process improvement.
* Project Engineer for the Malaysia ACMI system. Performed site installation for the new RMAF air combat training system, to include: site acceptance testing, aircraft ground mount testing and flight testing.
* Project Engineer for the JSF F-35 program. Responsible for the overall design, development and qualification of the aircraft LRU, which included development of Fibre Channel, Encryption, Power Supplies and RF Data Link for a highly reliable and robust device.
* General capabilities: proposal generation, develop basis of estimates, hardware and software requirements development and decomposition, requirement traceability matrix (DOORS), conduct trade studies, requirements change management; design for: cost, reliability, integrity, test, EMI/EMC, TEMPEST, security (common criteria, JAFAN 6/3, NSA user partnership and national security policies), maintainability, manufacturability, etc., risk management, technical performance measure tracking, inter-department coordination (drafting, manufacturing, supply chain, contracts, export control, program management, executive management, etc.), subcontractor selection, develop statements of work, supplier requirement documents, earned value management, schedule development and tracking, integration plans, test plans and procedures, product verification and validation execution, customer support and follow-on field/depot support.
