PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
FISERV INC. 10/12-2/13
Senior Network Engineer- Contract Position
* Designed and built new data centers from the ground up, integrating them into the Fiserv infrastructure.
* Assessed the old network topology and configuration to determine a new DC design.
* Coordinated presentations to introduce new topologies, made changes to the design, ensuring that all desired functionality was integrated.
* Presented new designs to the business unit and conducted network planning meetings.
* Planned the new network physical layout on each floor, IDF and rack.
* Installed and tested new networking equipment.
* Upgraded these DCs from Brocade switches and ASA firewalls to stacked Cisco switches and Checkpoint firewalls.
* Evaluated the Brocade and ASA CLI to determine any functionality needed in the new design.
* Integrated security in each switch stack to prevent any form of attack within the network.
* Created temporary NAT and a final IP addressing scheme that would provide connectivity to the Fiserv Infrastructure seamlessly.
* Allocated new IP subnets to VLANs based on location, function and future plans.
* Built a layer 3 stacked switch environment to support old and new networks simultaneously.
* Utilized Ether-Channel, 802.1Q Trunking, and PVSTP to provide redundant connectivity per VLAN.
* Worked with the Project Manager, Application Engineers, Security Infrastructure Team, and Management to resolve any network issues.
Technologies Used: Cisco 4500, 3750, Cisco ASA, Aironet 1000 LAP, 5500 WLC, Checkpoint Firewall, Blue Coat SWG VA, Brocade FastIron Switches.
VERIFONE SYSTEMS INC. 11/11-8/12
Senior Data Center Engineer
* Without initially knowing Juniper OS, Firewall or Load Balancer configuration, designed and built two functional PCI Data Centers from scratch using only Juniper SRX/EX clusters, F5 Load balancers and Checkpoint firewalls, all within nine months.
* Built a new virtual payment system utilizing all levels of design; creating a bill of materials, research, topology, management, remote access, security, and application requirements.
* Designed and integrated network connectivity, security, and availability within the VeriFone Core.
* Responsible for deploying a highly redundant, multi-service provider MPLS network, Internet configuration, backup links & executing network migration from the legacy network.
* Utilized the full internet routing table to support multi-ISP functionality.
* Deployed a highly complex dynamic NAT structure within multiple security zones in multiple routing instances.
* Implemented multiple routing instances, each having its own properties, security zone groups, and ipsec connections.
* Created and tested inter-functionality between Cisco and Juniper in regard to virtual connectivity, IPSEC and GRE tunnels.
* Worked on Intra and Inter Routing Instance Routing, Security, Connectivity, and Access.
* Designed and installed a Checkpoint, ASA and Juniper SRX firewall High-Availability solution for multiple data centers.
* Configured Rules, Routing and NAT as well as High Availability for all the data center firewalls.
* Designed a BigIP Load Balancer topology and performed initial installation and configuration of Server Pools, NAT, Rules, and Routing, to support the new data centers’ functionality and applications.
* Merged multiple networks acquired by VeriFone into the present infrastructure, consolidating multiple datacenters into key locations.
* Configured various network configurations involving BGP local-as, default information originate, route-map, prefix-list, distribute-list, filter-list, access-list, route-tag configuration.
* Designed all networks to support multi-ISP load balancing and backup.
