Experience
01/10 thru 10/12: Insitu – Hood River, OR
Position: Senior Mechanical Designer -- Contractual
Responsibilities:
Work with Mechanical Engineers to:
• Document each mechanical and electrical component used in the Commercial Integrator Project of the X300 UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle) on the launch and recovery system using SolidWorks 2011. This particular system is a variant of previous UAV’s designed by Insitu for commercial and military applications. Complete designs, create drawings and documentation of mechanical and electrical components used in both systems as well as EM packaging design and documentation which included drawings of components and drawing packages of components. The launch and recovery system of this project has been instrumental in procuring a strategic military contract with the US Government for use with the Navy and Marine Corps. or STUAS. This documentation includes taking models and assemblies created in SolidWorks 3D modeling software, completing part number requests and creating manufacturing drawings to assure fit, finish and functionality. These drawings are also required to meet and exceed all US Government military specifications.
• Ensuring that the above referenced documents are checked; meeting with Engineering Team, comprised of quality and manufacturing Engineers to ensure that the drawings meet all requirements. Also submit drawing packages to Configuration Management Team for final lock down in PDM vault.
• Work with Technical Review Board to get Engineering Change Requests processed

03/08 thru 05/09: Jacobs, ESCG; NASA/Johnson Space Center – Houston, TX
Position: Mechanical Designer/Draftsman -- Contractual
Responsibilities:
Work with Engineers at the ES3 -Thermal Design Branch of the Arc-Jet Test Facility to:
• Create 3D models, part and assembly drawings of components including EM packaging design and documentation which included drawings of components and drawing packages of components using both Pro-E Wildfire 2 and 3. These models and drawings are used for fabrication of test support equipment, which are used for testing components for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
• Complete the submission of drawing packages for approval and final release in PDM-Link as well as creation of ECO’s (Engineering Change Orders).
Work with Configuration Management Team to:
• Modify existing drawings and create new documentation of buildings and pressure systems of various testing facilities on site using AutoCAD 2008 - 2010. This documentation is used to verify existing structures and equipment as well as update mechanical and electrical facility components and building layouts. All document control is handled through AutoCAD’s Productstream software.
