Senior Design Quality Engineer
As a Quality Engineer for Philips Children’s Medical Ventures, my responsibilities are to ensure compliance with company quality policy, external standards and all regulatory requirements as they apply to Philips Children’s Medical Ventures design control processes. I also work in support of facilitation of new product development and product engineering by developing, participating in, reviewing and approving key documents and events, including quality assurance plans, design reviews, verification and validation plans, change notices, technical files and process validations. As the design quality engineer for new product development, it was also my responsibility to draft and maintain all risk files including hazards analyses, post market risk assessments, and health hazard analyses. I would perform all quality and risk related activities in the event of any recall of products from the field. Also, to support the Software and Diagnostic groups, I perform quality audits of design history files and software development phases. I work with Product Assurance and Software Assurance groups to drive quality improvement initiatives in New Product Development.

System Analyst
Involved with the Bid Manager Development Group (Proprietary Internal Global Ordering System). Responsibilities are to develop and maintain applications for a global ordering system using Visual Studio 6. The applications use a Visual Basic front end with a database back end and C++ drivers that are custom to the projects. This entails gathering specifications from product managers, implementing upgrades, and maintaining backward compatibility. Responsible for the maintenance of 12 different product lines including validation and verification of the software to support those product lines.

In this organization I was part of the RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) and Software Quality Engineering group. My responsibilities in this group were very diverse due to the fact that this was a new group and we had to develop all of the standards, tools, and procedures to accomplish our tasks using Visual Basic in combination with Access and SQL databases. I was in charge of coordinating training for all group members in the realm of SQA(Software Quality Assurance). I was also in charge of creating tools and methods to allow our company to satisfy all of the SQA key practices for CMM Level 2. Another task was to create web applications, using Macromedia UltraDev and SQL databases, that would increase productivity and assisted in the sharing of data across projects.
