Alkaline Battery Manufacturing, Asheboro, NC, Oct ’10 - Present

-Solved the longest standing quality issue on our separator insertion machine. This problem has been an issue since they installed the machine in 2002. I took the initiative on finding the root cause of the quality issue.
-100% of quality and safety issues tasked to me have been resolved in a very expedited manner.
- Active member and only engineer of the plants Ergonomic Team.
-Sole engineer for the plants number 1 issue in the plant that happened to be our main quality issue for FY’12. We reduced the damaged can rim defects by 70% compared to FY ’11.
-Improved efficiencies from 64% to 75% in one year for our impact AA raw cell lines by utilizing our downtime data to specifically target problem areas.
-Redesigned exit assembly to eliminate undetected dents in the cells, as well as eliminated unnecessary maintenance from abnormal destruction of components.
-Mentored the engineering co-op for the summer of 2012.

Energizer Packaging Facility, Asheboro, NC, Feb ’10 - Oct ’10

-Led lean events i.e. SMED events that have reduced change over time of dies from 60 min average to 15 min average.
-Via previous experience, I have utilized the fundamentals of line balancing in combination with basic ergonomic to increase production of a labor-intensive package from 60 skids per 8-hour to 200 skids per 8-hour shift. I have trained the supervisors of this and is now the standard work for similar pack types.
-Designed multiple pick and place end effectors for many unique packaging applications.
