Materials Engineer/Laboratory Coordinator, Materials Engineering Department
Lexmark International Inc. via (Aerotek/Analysts International)
Lexington, KY
Lexington is the world headquarters for Lexmark International Materials Engineering. This lab serves Materials needs for the business from initial development through the complete manufacturing lifecycle overseas, and up to and including recycling of the product and components in their final destination country.
Primary duties include:
* failure analysis
* materials laboratory services such as SEM/EDS analysis (JOEL JSM-6100, Hitachi S-4700/4800/3700)
* corrosion testing and analysis
* sample prep (including cross-sections and sample prep for other tools such as the AFM)
* X-ray imaging and CT scans (Dage)
* mechanical testing for physical/mechanical properties (Instron)
* optical microscopy
* circuit board analysis (component, dye & pry, cross-sections per IPC standards)
Responsibilities also entail coordinating the work of other engineers/technicians, generating reports, working independently with customers, and prioritizing laboratory activities including analytical analysis such as IR, NMR, ICP, TGA, DSC, & XRF and coordinating work with outside labs as needed.
