• Objective: reduce the Risk-Priority-Number (RPN) below 100
• The problem with the clutch pack assembly process is no inspection method which has the most potential to reduce RPN score
• Tried camera, laser and eddy current to inspect the product, but none of them work well. Therefore we suggest using proximity sensor to prevent the defect and it reduces RPN from 144 to 48.
• Redesign the work area to make the environment more efficient. It has also been consider the safety issue to prevent injure.
Course Project
Ergonomic work design
• Observe the process of human body movement and the possible short turn injury and long turn injury.
• Create the easy, fast and safe work process for the labors.
• Personal test to see if the process work easy for labors.
Manufacture layout design
• Observe the market of layout design and figure out the possible improvement.
• Decided to move some blocks to help the customers have better space to shop.
• Use Autocad to change the current field with more fluent market.
Engineering economic analysis
• Observe a random company’s accounting report.
• Calculate the company accountant to understand if the company has been gaining or losing the profit.
• Calculate if the company is worth to invest.
Engineer project (Design an auto-flight helicopter)
• Work with different field of engineer to build this auto-flight helicopter.
• Use Solidwork to design the original shape of the helicopter. Pick the light weight material due to the weight limit. Build the helicopter with battery, camera, and laser scanner.
• Flight test to see if the engine and propeller is able to provide enough force to fly.
• Redesign the helicopter due to easy rebuild from the crash.
