Present

EMS (Energy Management and Services) Charleston, WV
EMS provides technical expertise to the energy industry covering all aspects from the source to the end user, while emphasizing safety and upholding the highest standards of integrity resulting in total client satisfaction.

Natural Gas Engineer

• Project and design engineering for pressure safety valve systems associated with multiple compressor stations to evaluate existing pressure safety valves to determine whether they were adequate for station protection. Recommendations were then made for placement of new valves if needed along with replacing and relocating existing valves as determined through pressure relief principles obtained in API 520 and API 526.

• Conducted HCA survey verification for Natural Gas gathering lines. Spent several months using x-maps software to travel along thousands of miles of Natural Gas gathering systems to confirm existing and determine location of all inhabitable structures located within 650 feet either side of the pipeline.

• Worked with a scoping team to replace weld-in ball valves for discharge and suction lines for three compressor units with flanged-in valves and automated actuators. Worked closely with scoping team to develop a preliminary cost estimate accounting for cost of materials, construction and engineering design. A scope was then written that encompassed the design and placement of the new flanged-in valves and actuators utilizing mechanical, civil and electrical design principles.

• Oversaw skid grouting for the commissioning of a new compressor unit to already operational compressor station. Recommendations and observations were made referencing grout coverage along with the addition of expansion joints as well as recommendations on pouring methods.

• Worked to develop test pressures for pneumatic pressure testing of piping associated with auxiliary lines for the commissioning of new compressor stations. Utilizing DOT 192 and ASME B31 proced...
