Postdoctoral Fellow
• Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, surgeons, and physical therapists to investigate orthopaedic and rehabilitation solutions for Veterans.
o Projects include: Investigation of the Kinematics of Shod and Barefoot Runners using Bi-Planar Videoradiography and a Motion Tracking System; Characterization of Disability in ACL Patients Using Virtual Reality and Motion Capture; Restoration of Kinematic Function Following ACL Reconstruction; Validation of the MIT Wrist Manus Kinematic Data using 3-D Motion Capture
• Developed, edited, and managed human subject research protocols and consent forms according to Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards for multiple projects.
• Conducted human subject research by designing and developing experimental protocols, performing subject recruitment, collecting data, and analyzing results.
• Served as lead investigator and project manager on 3 projects focusing on the biomechanics of human motion.
o Executed and completed motion capture data collection, processing, and analysis for 2 of these studies using Qualisys cameras and software, Visual3D, Matlab, and statistical analysis software
o Coordinated and managed a multidisciplinary team, as well as collected and processed data, for a longitudinal study. This project continues to enroll subjects and collect data at designated time points.
o Submitted 3 abstracts for presentation at national and international conferences; 3 publications in preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
• Supervised 3 undergraduate students through motion capture data collection, processing, and analysis.

PhD Candidate/Graduate Student/Research Assistant
• Collaborated with engineers, scientists, surgeons, residents, and undergraduate, graduate and medical students on over 10 projects focused on sports biomechanics, mechanical and material properties, osteoarthritis, and orthopaedic biomechanics.
• Experienced in sports equipment safety testing, cellular level bench top research, in vivo and ex vivo animal models, and cadaveric studies.
• Served as lead investigator on 4 projects.
o Designed test apparatuses, including a friction tester and a driven pendulum system, using SolidWorks 3D CAD design software.
o Developed and conducted bench-top research experiments and biomechanical tests.
o Processed and analyzed data using several types of software, including custom Matlab code, and a variety of laboratory techniques such as Tekscan, Qualisys Motion Capture equipment and software, materials testing with servo-hydraulic machines, cell viability testing, confocal microscopy, and atomic force microscopy.
o Performed statistical analyses for each study.
o Generated the results and findings to produce: Doctoral dissertation, Master’s thesis, 5 peer-reviewed publications, and 6 podium and 14 poster presentations at national and international conferences.
• Supervised and guided 5 students and several orthopaedic surgical residents through experimental protocol development and execution, data analysis, and abstract and manuscript preparation.
