Construction Engineering
I have been responsible for the management of over $3,000,000 in consulting fees for construction observation projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation in Districts 4, 5, 8 and 9. I have managed up to 30 construction personnel on projects including:
Reconstruction, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewers, and other work for a $9,300,000 five-lane improvement on IL Route 159 in Collinsville, IL.
Reconstruction of the IL 13 bridge over the Big Muddy River in Murphysboro. Construction costs for this complete removal of a three-span I-beam bridge and the replacement with a five-span I-beam bridge is estimated at $11,000,000.
Construction of a new concrete apron at Mid-America Airport in Mascoutah, IL. Services included quality assurance, quantity documentation, measurement of in-place materials, and compliance with plans and specifications.
Reconstruction, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewers, retaining wall and other work of 2.24 kilometers of five-lane improvements on IL Route 8 (Washington Street) from Oakwood Road to east of Sunrise Avenue in East Peoria, IL.
Structure improvements for milling, patching, resurfacing and safety improvements of 15.23 miles of I-72 from Macon/Piatt County Line to White Heath Road near White Heath, IL. In Piatt County, Illinois. The structure improvements included: partial and full depth deck patching; replacing deck drains; replacement of abutment bearings; HMA surface removal, hydro-scarification of existing deck and microsilica concrete overlay; median pier crash-wall extension; and replacement of existing joint sealer.
Milling and resurfacing of 2.5 miles of I-74, ¾ miles of I-55 and 1 mile of Veteran’s Parkway around Bloomington, Illinois in McLean County Illinois.
Patching, milling and resurfacing of 1.13 miles of U. S. Route 150/45 (University Avenue) from Wright Street to east of Race Street in Urbana, IL. in Champaign County Illinois. Due to high traffic volume, all work was completed from 8:00p to 6:00a. Services included quantity documentation, concrete testing, measurement of in-place materials and compliance with plans and specifications.
Removal and widening and reconstruction of a taxiway and new access road at Abraham Lincoln/Capital Airport in Springfield, IL. Services included quantity documentation, measurement of in-place materials, material inspection, and compliance with plans and specifications.
Construction of a new concrete apron at Willard Airport in Champaign, IL. Services included quantity documentation, measurement of in-place materials, and compliance with plans and specifications.
County Engineer
As the County Engineer, I was responsible for the design, maintenance and construction of projects on 154 miles of county highways and all county and township bridges in Edgar County. I managed a staff of ten full-time professional, administrative and maintenance personnel. I also prepared the budgets and monitored receipts and expenditures for six department funds. I coordinated highway department activities with other county departments as well as the Illinois Department of Transportation. I was active in emergency response training in the county and have received certification from National Incident Management Systems. I trained maintenance personnel on safety related topics such as: Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment, Trench Safety and Fall Protection.
Municipal Engineering
As the County Engineer, I have prepared the Motor Fuel Tax budgets and set up material lettings for the county and all 15 Road Districts in Edgar County. Additionally, as a consultant, I have prepared the Motor Fuel Tax budgets and documentation for several villages.
