I am involved in requirement gathering, analysis, implementations, development and support activities.
I involved in development and maintain the C++ applications on UNIX environment to update the Sybase database, with daily market data and with the help of shell scripts written in CSH shell. C++ software programs are written to down load the market data from REUTERS and apply the valuations to the daily trades and Store the market data information in local data repository. The market data used by the financial instruments like, Bonds, Stocks, Swaps, Exotic Bonds, FX, Swopts, etc. and Treasury curves (which again pricing information). Collected data in specific intervals will be stores into local Sybase database for further processing.
Involved in identifying errors in booked trades (Bonds, Swap, Swoptions, etc – if any), and trades which are breaching the credit limits, and provide the fixes to Traders and Risk groups. Once it is done, and then reloads the correct information into Sybase database using C++ binaries on UNIX environment. The information from different sources will be collected by trusted third party vendors like, Reuters, LB, SSB and Bloomberg and stores them in media. Download the data from the above mentioned trusted third parties through Summit APIs written C++ software language and upload into Sybase database in the format required for my client.
Analytics also analyzes the risk involved in investments. Analytics are also verifies the credit limits for different institutions & borrowers before providing loans to them. Analytics verifies the Credit history before issuing loans to financial institution and/or countries. Numerical algorithms are used in market data pricing calculations. These algorithms are used by C++ software programs to calculate the money flow and store them in Sybase database.
I involved in monitor all the activities, and respond to the users in resolving the errors as a support team member. I involved in writing different shell scripts on UNIX plat form to help the developers in providing the data required by their programs. I involved in tracking the requests raised by users and different colleagues and respond them in completing their work done.
Key Responsibilities:
• Used C++ to write the business logic to calculate the curves rates of market data.
• Used Summit API to interact the Sybase database.
• Used CSH shell script to prepare the input data.
• Used CSH shell script to prepare the input data.
• Used ISQL to connect to the SYBASE database.
• Used BCP in to write the data into Sybase database.
• Used BCP out to write the data into flat files.
• Used CSH shell script to format the incoming data into CSV format.
• Used mailx command to automatically email the generated output files/data.
• Used at command to schedule the jobs inside the shell script.
• Communicated directly with the users to resolve their issues as a part of support functionality.
• Involved C++ module developer.
• Worked with CRONTAB to schedule the jobs on Solaris machine 5.8.
• Helped team members to compile the C++ binaries, on different versions of upgrade machines.
Environment Used: C++, CSH, UNIX (SUN-SOLARIS), SCCS (versioning control tool), Production support and maintenance.
Project: CIRCLE Apr 2007 to Nov 2007
Client: CINGULAR WIRELESS (AT&T), Alpharetta, GA, USA. – CDC.
CIRCLE (Cingular Roaming records Clearing house) is a project, which provides the information of off-network data usage. Each month, AT&T Mobility (ATTM) pays $2.5 million more than it bills for domestic in-collect expense for off-network data usage. The domestic in-collect data business yields an annual loss of $30 million. ATTM has no visibility into off-net data service usage billed to subscribers. We receive only off-network usage from the Clearinghouse and we do not know which usage has been billed to the subscriber. Profitability analysis of all customers with a negative OI will be performed on the Microsoft-delivered Customer Profitability Analysis (CPA) system. Data for analysis will include TAP voice records from CIRCLE.
Key Responsibilities:
• Involved in design, develop, implementation, and unit testing.
• Using C++ on UNIX plat form, designed and developed three clas...
