Principal Software Engineer
Managed product development teams for integration and deployment of Cavium packet processor and Intel CPU ATCA blade products for 4G LTE and CDMA systems.
• Managed integration team of 4-8 engineers and deployment of ATCA packet processor products into tier 1 telecom systems. Achieved General Availability (GA) release of products on all 3 major accounts in 2012. $20MM revenue forecast in 2013.
• Project scheduling and prioritization of engineering resources. Proactively managed product vitality to insure no production interruptions, e.g., EOL components, regulatory changes.
Primary customer contact for all facets of tier 1 Telecommunications programs; engineering, supply chain, quality, contracts and compliance. Directed technical problem resolutions.
• Simultaneously managed 3 large corporate accounts; Ericsson, Hitachi and LHS. Chaired bi-weekly calls with multi-discipline GE and customer program stakeholders; overcoming language, and time-zone hurdles to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical members.
• Received highest rating of Role Model in 2009 and 2010 for “Imagination and Inclusiveness”. Demonstrated an ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries to actively engage, collaborate and solve problems.
• Managed new product requests; Developed and refined numerous product concepts, provided project costing, engineering schedules and material cost to create business case in response to customer RFQs, including Advanced Telecommunication and Computing Architecture (ATCA) and Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC) products.
• Appointed to overhauled ISO 9000 procedures and successfully developed and implemented corrective actions to a major finding in 2010 audit.
• Chaired multiple cross functional initiatives to drive out product costs; resulted in Direct Material Productivity (DMP) project of year award nomination; ~$150K savings.
Technical software lead for new product designs and customer integration.
• Designed, developed and deployed an ATM PCI monitor card with VPI/VCI auto-discovery. Utilized a "tap" to non-invasively monitor fiber connection and a Content-addressable memory (CAM) to detect all VPI/VCI connections and provide time-stamping.
• Developed PowerQUICC II (8260) based AAL1/2/5 ATM interface card with OC3 optical interface. Implemented Inverse Multiplexing for ATM (IMA) protocol.
• Developed firmware for 6U CPCI ATM blade utilizing Conexant CN8236 AAL1/2/3 ATM SAR, Tundra PCI bridges, Freescale MPC750 processor, and VxWorks OS.
• Developed both Linux and Windows drivers for PCI cards
