Quality Engineer
Facilitates internal 8D Analysis to determine root cause and permanent corrective action on customer rejects for Caterpillar plants such as to Aurora, Decatur, East Peoria, Victoria (Texas), Little Rock, Brazil, Mexico, Belgium and Akashi.
Completes and submits external customer CARs (Corrective Action Reports) to demonstrate in-depth analysis and investigation on quality issues.
Coordinates customer quality review meetings to report out on metrics such as PPM, and delivery performance while reviewing facility specific top quality rejects for the month.
Attends weekly internal impound meetings to properly disposition customer returns (defective material) and simultaneously do on the spot 8D analysis.
Expedited necessary customer site visits to local Caterpillar customers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
Monitors and completes layered process audits (LPA) on current manufacturing processes in departments such as weld/braze, paint, shipping, machine shop, tube fabrication etc for continuous improvement to make processes leaner. Updates processes as necessary.
Collaborates directly with Chinese supplier of purchase finished product to retrieve PPAP documentation for analysis on process capability.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending industry related workshops and participating in projects.

Assessed audits on the factory floor doing on completed machined products to ensure that CNC Operators were running quality parts according to customer blueprint specifications.

Aided PPAPs (Product Part Approval Process) on finished products to communicate to customers that the company’s manufacturing processes proved capable in order to give the customer confidence that parts were to print.
