Inspect manufacturing of composite pressure vessels. This included reviewing material certifications, monitoring assembly operations, and witnessing or performing testing on finished vessels.

Design Engineer (Loaded Motor Work Center)
Responsible for material, manufacturing process, and design specifications and drawings for adhesives used in rocket motors. Resolved manufacturing problems and material or hardware non-conformance reports. Implemented needed engineering changes. Statistical methods, DOE, etc., where used for test planning and data analysis. Examples of accomplishments and projects include the following:
• Represented Design Engineering on a Process Failure Effects and Mode Analysis Team. Determined critical process parameters for adhesive and reviewed quality acceptance testing to ensure requirements were being met.
• Implemented a change in the humidity requirements for adhesive processing. This eliminated the need for costly dehumidification equipment and reduced schedule delays.
• Directed testing to change the storage requirements for an epoxy resin used in an adhesive to reduce the scrap rate for material.
Scientist (R&D Lab)
Developed and characterized adhesive systems for new motors and provided support to manufacturing. Directed testing to validate motor requirements were met. Examples of accomplishments include the following:
• Initiated the use of SPC charts to track illuminating flare adhesive data.
