Kendall Med-West, Salt Lake City, UT
• Developed a production process for catheters, and delivered catheters using this process
• Designed a triple lumen catheter to avoid patent infringement that could have caused the shut down of an important product line
• Received design patent for the triple lumen catheter
• Managed molding room, and increased productivity from 64% to 87%
• Additional hands-on development activities including RF welding, catheter tipping, laser drilling, and standard operating procedure (SOP) development
Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer 1988-1990

• Manufacturing Engineer, supervising 33 people

• Significantly increased productivity through use of conveyors, gravity rollers, and specialized material handling equipment

I was hired as an entry level Industrial Engineer in March of 1988. In July of 1988, after developing an initial time study analysis of various production areas, it was requested by the Vice Presidents of Operations and Research and Development that I assume the responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer in the largest production area in the plant.
