Graduate Student Worker (Internship), County of San Diego – Energy Program
06/2011 - 09/2013
• Involved with many projects in efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint
• Gained project management experience from working alongside project managers and departmental leaders of real estate services, fleet management, and facilities operations
• Learned about the roles of the Department of General Services at the County of San Diego
• Experienced the process of external third-party verification and worked with outside contractors
• Familiarized myself with Energy Star Portfolio Manager Benchmarking and greenhouse gas inventories
• General tasks: participation in energy efficiency projects, billing audits, SDG&E energy efficiency rebates, utility cost savings reports, reviewing of web-based/spreadsheet toolkits, and utility consumption data compilation
