RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY
Graduate Student with Dr. Jordi C. Ochando, 2012-present
Functional and mechanistic studies of myeloid-derived suppressor cells and their role in establishing transplantation tolerance
• Characterized myeloid-derived suppressor cell population revealed to contribute to induction of transplant tolerance in mice that underwent cardiac transplants by flow cytometry and functional suppression assays
• Identified biochemical pathway controlling myeloid-derived suppressor cell function in transplantation setting
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY
Graduate Student with Dr. Thomas M. Moran, 2009-2012
Functional and mechanistic studies of T-cell mediated anti-viral responses during pregnancy
• Developed method for naïve and memory T-cell stimulation, antigen-presenting cell free and coculture from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of donor buffy coat fractions.
• Analyzed potential effects of pregnancy associated steroid hormones on cytokine production by stimulated T-cells by sandwich ELISA. Extracellular and intracellular flow cytometry for secreted and non-secreted protein production.
• Analyzed potential effects on transcription by qRT-PCR
Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY
