Manufacturing Engineer

Provide technical Engineering and new model launch support for the manufacture of Kubota Tractor Implements. Principal Manufacturing Engineer for three manufacturing lines. Consistently assigned projects of increased responsibility and complexity.



Key Contributions:



• Successful design and installation management of a new high volume dual robotic welding cell for tractor loader arm fabrication.

• Successful design of a robotic welding cell for the fabrication of tractor attachments.

• Successful first production run for the 2013 LA555, LA805 and LA1055 tractor implement models.

• Successful project coordination in the installation and startup of a 7-month $250,000 high volume loader fabrication cell.

• Designed the mainframe tooling and coordinated the pilot production for the M135X tractor loader; Kubota’s largest tractor to date.

• Principal mainframe and loader tooling designer and first production coordinator for the LA524, 764, 508 (Thailand) and 854-AU (Australia) tractor models.

• Designed and implemented an automated PLC drilling and tapping machine for production of tractor components. Cost reduction by bringing parts in-house.

• Principal Mainframe tooling designer and pilot production coordinator for the 2014 D26E new model.

• Design and implementation of a one of a kind automated welding machine for cost reduction.

• Coordinator for new Servo Robot welding technology into current bucket welding lines.

• Kaizen Project Leader on an eight-month project requiring thorough analysis, layout re-design and installation of large capital equipment for the loader manufacturing line.

• Travel to Japan for the testing and design specification for a new loader bucket fabrication machine.

• Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPS and continuous improvement principles into new and existing processes and production floor layouts to support changing production mixes and tractor models.

Assistant to the Chief Engineer for the design and development of the Ford F450 B7 military armored truck.



Key Contributions:



• Assisted Chief Engineer in the design and analysis of the prototype trucks’ armored cab and chassis. Major milestones included the design and development of a one-piece v-hull and a third door hinge that increased door opening by 30%.

• Evaluated and created manufacturing and assembly line floor layouts and overseas service facility layouts in preparation of mass production.

• Determined requirements and presented recommendations for engineering software and hardware to be implemented with a phase-in plan that allowed for continuation of production during implementation.

• Successfully implemented an Autodesk 3D CAD system and transitioned all hand-sketched drawings and templates into digital format, allowing components to be outsourced for fabrication.

• Responsible for all maintenance and support of the CAD system and its users.
